Disgustingly racist
I really like Chris Rock, though more as an actor than as a stand-up comedian, but I watched his earlier stand-up performances and this isn’t even close. Chris is going through a difficult period privately and all his suffering and bitterness comes to light in this performance. These are not the jokes written for a performance, this is Chris who, under the cover of stand-up comedy, throws out everything that bothers him, and he is so charged with negative emotions that he loses every sense of balance and the right measure. I like “offensive stand-up”, what’s more, it’s my favorite kind, but on the condition that offensiveness serves humor and not the other way around. It’s so disgustingly racist, over-the-top, and fundamentally too serious, that even the most hilarious humor could hardly justify it, let alone these mostly unoriginal and clichéd jokes. The performance is so dark that even the legendary Chris’s charm can not squeeze it as a comedy. However, towards the end, he improved a bit and you could feel the whiff of the old Chris.

Chris Rock has come a long way….
Just the wrong way. He went from a real eye opening first HBO special where his truth based insightfulness gave us humor and realness and a ton of laughter, to now, unfunny, racist material based on untruths. and really just outrageous hate.

Apparently Netflix thought it was great to publish this special where Chris Rock calls for equal killings of white people and he wants to see more white women crying over their dead children. As if, any children should be killed and anyone actually calls for that.

What a shame.
