Due to Hao’s difficult personality, the restaurant is on the verge of bankruptcy and he finally collapses. In order to save the restaurant, Mark enters a cooking contest without his grandfather’s knowledge and consent in Shanghai. He competes against talented chefs from Japan, Korea and Australia, and freely shows off ravishing cooking skills that he has accumulated from his grandfather over the years. As Mark wins round after round and gains attention, Julia, the contest producer notices something peculiar about him, then slowly realizes that Mark and her husband David resemble each other.
Plot: Hao’s Singaporean restaurant is in danger of going out of business. Hao’s grandson, Mark, secretly travels to Shanghai to attend a cooking competition despite his grandfather’s wishes for him to become an engineer. Mark takes the place of a contestant who did not show up and must now impress the host, Julia Lee, and her chef husband, David Chen. Chen, who is originally from Singapore and misses his family, eventually learns he is Mark’s father.

Entertaining though far-fetched
I suggest to watch this movie just for entertainment and enjoy the culinary aspects. Don’t over analyze and just enjoy the flow and laughs. The plot is a bit unbelievable, the acting is ok, some supporting characters especially the chefs in the competition are funny and the general mood of the movie is happy and fast paced.
