The morale of this story is that the Hannah Gadsbys of the world shouldn’t blame the waiters of the world, most of whom really don’t care about your gender issues. If you don’t want to be mistaken for a man (the worst animal on the planet, in Gadsby’s opinion) you can’t blame anyone for that but yourself.

As if anyone cares whether Hannah is a he or a she. Her entire act is based on her assumption that her boring sexuality matters to anyone other than to Hannah Gadsby.

This is basically a thoroughly humorless-and I mean thoroughly and utterly humor-free-lecture about how horrible men are and how we all need to just laugh more. OK, I’m waiting.

I would imagine that the only people who found this funny and, gulp, brilliant, all look like Hannah Gadsby. Hannah Gadsby certainly finds this stuff hilarious because she laughed at it more than I did, but I didn’t laugh at all.

Lesbians have feedback, men have opinions, because men are all such monsters. Like no lesbian has ever been a loud-mouthed creep in the history of lesbians.
