Digital ghost story from the Philippines
EVIL EYE HEX is another in a long line of cheap, digital ghost stories shot in the Tagalog language and made in the Philippines. This one is saddled with a most predictable storyline which reminded me of I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER a little; a group of prankster friends play a cruel jape in which a beggar is accidentally killed. The spirit of the deceased then returns to haunt those responsible. The viewer is assailed by cheap CGI effects, a generally greyed out and gloomy look, interchangeable plotting, and indifferent performances from the central cast.
