As maid of honor for her best friend Ava, her duties included decorating the cottage for the newlyweds. It was a simple enough task, but she hadn’t counted on sexy Ean Callahan, the bride-to-be’s brother, to be assisting her. Spending the evening ensconced in the overly romantic setting while a blizzard howls outside has Lacey wondering if fairy tales really do come true.
Plot: When Lacey takes a rare break from work for her friend Ava’s Christmas Eve wedding, she reconnects with her former flame, Ean. The two decorate the cottage where the newlyweds will spend their honeymoon – a cottage said to bring true love to anyone who stays there – and feel their chemistry return.

Lacey has already given up on love. Her heart’s been broken too many times, and now she concentrates on her career as an interior designer in Raleigh, North Carolina. When BFF Ava Callahan asks Lacey to be her maid of honor, she must take on a few responsibilities, including making sure the Callahan family cottage is perfect for the honeymoon. Legend has it that if newlyweds spend their first night there, everlasting love and happiness follow. Lacey isn’t sure she buys into that notion. Still, when she finds herself snowed in there with Charlie, Ava’s brother, Lacey has to reconsider if the little house may hold some romantic magic after all.

The film would not be bad had it cast someone else as the male lead. Steve Lund can not make his part come to life. Merritt Patterson however makes the most of what is given to her.

The hidden message however in this film is “Women who are never married will never be happy”.

The film does nothing original. The fun thing to with this movie is to see if you can figure what other Hallmark Movies were filmed at the same locations that were used here.

Good acting and great Christmas setting
This is a very typical Hallmark Christmas movie, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not enjoyable. I actually have DVRed this movie two years in row, because I find it sweet, and fun to watch. Merritt Patterson and Steve Lund have genuine chemistry, and who hasn’t had the elegant-vs-fun Christmas tree debate? With the exception of Aunt Sarah hating on white Christmas lights one too many times, this is a solid Christmas choice. Not too cringe-y, just sweet enough, and full of people who seem to enjoy being there. One of my favorites!
