Not the best Western ever made for sure, but…
Not the best Western ever made for sure, but… It does make for a good story. I rated it 4 stars for the story but nothing else is even close to being above a 2 star. It is not original. It is another ‘A stranger came to town to learn a story from the town’s history.’ Based on real people in history this fictional story is about a crooked mayor trying to steal gold from the town’s gold mine, thought to be played out but not. Part of his ruse is to blame the murders of those that could expose him on the real Johnny Ringo. Johnny Ringo wants to clear his name for crimes that he did not commit. Bat Masterson comes to town to clear up the criminal activity. Suspicious of Ringo, Bat eventually teams up with Ringo to solve the mystery. ~ Obvious micro budget, I don’t believe that they even had a lighting or sound team/department. Terrible directing, acting, & very mechanical dialogue. With better everything the story could have gone somewhere…
